PU Achieves Success on Collaboration with EWC

Jakarta, June 22, 2024/Indonesia Media – Charles Saerang, an advisor to the Rector of President University (PU) has just initiated a strategic partnership with a very popular East-West Center (EWC) in Hawaii, the United States of America. Saerang and the chairman of PU Foundation, Prof. Budi Susilo Soepandji, the former governor of Indonesian national resilience institute (2011 – 2016) attended a series of invitations from EWC to establish collaboration between the two parties.

According to Saerang, EWC and PU agreed with each other to establish some strategic collaborations next. EWC will provide scholarships for PU students, especially for the bachelor (S1), master degree (S2). Even EWC will also facilitate the program of student exchange among the students from Hawaii and PU. “Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) is in progress preparing the program of joint degree with PU,” said Saerang.

He reiterated that the result of his visit together with Prof. Budi Susilo Soepandji to EWS, was actually a new step of international cooperation for PU. “The significant highlight, that we (PU) is the first campus in Indonesia which received an invitation for collaboration,” said Saerang.

Besides that, Punahou high school in Hawaii also sought to establish a similar scheme of collaboration so the graduates can continue their studies in PU’s medical faculty. “From the collaboration, we hope we can improve the quality of education and provide benefits for the students and professionals in the country,” said Saerang.

EWC is widely known as an institution which plays a part in promoting an understanding and cooperation among the countries in Asia Pacific and USA. EWC also provides some programs to improve knowledge and skill for the students and professionals. In the field of education, EWC offers some programs of study and training for students and professionals from throughout countries in Asia Pacific and USA. The programs focus on current issues in relationship with economics, politics, culture and environment. (LS/IM)
